Plans Halted on New Pixies Record

22 July 2009

Pixies head honcho Frank Black has revealed that there has been no work on new Pixies material, despite hoping to get something off the ground. The band were thought to be hard at work on material for their first release since 1991's Trompe Le Monde but the legendary frontman was quoted as saying that "there isn't really anything to report in that department. In terms of any new Pixies records, I'm in the dark. We're active insofar as our old repertoire is concerned. We're not active in terms of anything new". There was speculation earlier in the year that a new album was imminent and even rumours that Quentin Tarantino would be taking charge of the project in a yet to be defined capacity.

The Pixies are set to tour Europe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic album Doolittle and play Dublin's Olympia on 30th September, 1st and 2nd October.
