We totally get that not everyone who is working in the music industry is necessarily an expert on music. It's not ideal, no - but you can't expect every single person to be knowledgable on every single artist. It's an unrealistic expectation.

HOWEVER... you'd expect someone working in a radio station to at least be somewhat familiar with the names of the biggest recording artists of all time.

That wasn't the case with Kylie, an employee of an unnamed Los Angeles radio station.

Poor ol' Kylie has apparently never heard of Annie Lennox - yes, the Annie Lennox of Eurythmics and solo fame, who has been around since the 1970s and has sold over 80 million albums worldwide - as she mistook her for an up-and-coming artist who was in need of a helping hand to score some publicity.

Lennox shared the unfortunate email she'd received from Kylie - who approaches artists that she thinks 'have potential' - and encouraged Lennox to send in the MP3 of her latest single, so she could forward it to 'Glenn, our programme director, to see if he's interested in putting it in rotation.'

At least Lennox has a sense of humour about the whole thing, captioning the post with 'I think I'm in with a chance?!!'
