If you happened to be walking down Harry Street in Dublin the other day and looked up as you passed the statue of Phil Lynott outside Bruxelles, you might have thought 'That guy looks... is it...? Nahhhhh.'

Chances are that you wouldn't have considered there to be any reason why civil rights activist, Baptist minister and TV personality Reverend Al Sharpton would be in Dublin and/or posing with the Thin Lizzy frontman's statue - but yes, it really was him.

Sharpton was in Dublin to receive honours from two universities - the James Joyce Award from UCD and the Gold Medal from Trinity's Historical Society - and while staying in the Westbury Hotel, took the time to wander over to pose with Philo.
