New Phoenix album in 2013? Yes please!
You can only imagine our delight this morning when we saw reports that French electro-pop outfit Phoenix would be releasing a new album in April of next year. You see, Phoenix's most recent album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix was our (and a lot of other publications') favourite album of 2009. Even now, a few years after its release, it still gets played with pretty heavy regularity on the entertainment.ie speakers.
The news broke at a Spotify event yesterday when Daniel Glass, head of the band's label Glassnote, spoke to the assembled crowd and said that he'd just got off the phone with the band and they told him they'd completed the record in a Paris studio. The band have been working on the album since 2011 and, while no name has been announced yet, some are suggesting that it's called TPC, based on this image from the band's website.
