Galway's Sugar Beat festival, which takes place on August 22nd and 23rd in Tuam, has added more acts to its line-up.

The festival had previously announced that The Stunning - a band with close links to Galway - would headline this year's event.

Now they have revealed that Ryan Sheridan, ORB (formerly The Original Rudeboys) and Louis Walsh's new boyband Hometown will be joining them.

Also on the bill are Amazing Apples, Rackhouse Pilfer and Big Generator, Too Much for the Whiteman, My Fellow Sponges, Seamus Rutledge and the Full Outfit, Dan & Dylan, Joe Fury & the Hayride, Rugged Wood, Spyfu and The Risers.

The programme will run from 12.30pm - 10.30pm on Saturday, and 12.30pm - 9.30pm on Sunday, with further acts to be announced.

Organiser Shane Donnellan said that he was encouraged by the reception to last year's first Sugar Beat festival. "The West of Ireland needs more outdoor events like this and we’re happy to be bringing some of Ireland's biggest acts to Galway for SugarBeat," he said. "We found out last year that there’s a great appetite for a music festival in Galway, when Damien Dempsey performed to a sold out SugarBeat Fest. After last year’s success, we decided to give it another go and make it bigger and better."

The festival takes place in Tuam town - although there will be a shuttle bus available from Galway - where there will also be a continental food market for patrons to indulge in.
