Is the Dominican Republic experiencing its very own 'Garth Brooks moment'?

The government of the Dominican Republic have officially banned pop starlet Miley Cyrus from touring to their country on "morality grounds", forcing her to cancel a date scheduled for 13th September as part of the singer's world tour.

A statement released by the country's commission for public performances said that the concert was shelves because Cyrus regularly "undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law".

Miley's tour has drawn controversy in almost every market it has visited due to its racy content although we have to admit that we quite enjoyed her show in The O2 earlier this year.

Tickets for the show have been on sale since last month and ranged between $27 and $370 and, as we all know, ticket price reimbursements are never the easiest thing to do.
