Mercury Music Prize Speculation

Mercury Music Prize Speculation

21 July 2009

Today sees the announcement of this year's batch of Mercury Music Prize nominations and speculation is rampant as to who will make the prestigious list. Elbow, last year's winners, enjoyed a fantastic end to 2008 and continued success thus far in 2009 on the back of picking up the prestigious gong and speculation is rampant as to who will pick up the Mercury 'rub' this year. The selection criteria specifies that in order for an album to qualify for the prize it must have an Irish/UK release date which falls within 15th July 2008 and 13th July 2009. Albums of any genre are eligible.
