We finally kind of, sort of, have a date for that much talked about Spice Girls reunion.

Former member of the girl band Mel B, aka Melanie Brown, has confirmed that the group’s reunion will take place this year.

She told Loose Women on ITV: “We are getting back together. For sure we are. In fact, I'm seeing Geri [Horner] a little bit later on today. We're sisters at the end of the day, what we went through was quite an amazing, brilliant journey.”

She revealed that there is one member of the girl group who has been holding up proceedings (we wonder who…). When asked if all five members of the band would be involved, she said: “There’s one that’s been a bit difficult. But she’s getting roped in.”

Asked if we’ll be seeing something happen this year, she answered: “Yes, yes. We are going to start this year and then go on until next year - and then hopefully the year after that if it's got anything to do with me.”

All five of the Spice Girls, including Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm, aka Mel C, were pictured together at a reunion lunch earlier this year. However, the exact nature of any future plans they have as a band remain up in the air – there was even talk of an animated movie based on them being in the works at one point.

Beckham has fervently denied that they will be touring and more recently, denied they are recording any new music, but were only trying to give a message of ‘Girl Power’ through their reunion earlier in the year.

We’re determined to stay hopeful!
