Kanye West has always made waves (heh) at the VMAs.

After all, it was "Imma let you finish" moment in 2009 that more or less catapulted Taylor Swift into the public consciousness. West has always had a love-hate relationship with fame, MTV and infamy, so it's more than a little surprising that the TV studio has reportedly given West a free rein to do whatever he wants during the upcoming VMAs.

A report by Pitchfork has confirmed that Kanye West has been given four minutes to do literally whatever he wants on stage and that the show's producers have no clue or idea what he'll be doing. West previously announced at last year's VMAs that he would run for President in 2020, so there's genuinely no telling what he'll do this time.

It's hard to know what Kanye West has up his sleeve. Much has been made of his feud with Taylor Swift and the ruckus over the Famous music video, which saw Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West naked in bed with a Taylor Swift doppelganger and several others, has more or less died down.

Could he kick it all off again with more phone-recorded footage? Could the whole thing actually be revealed as a giant joke on all of us?

Who knows. All will be revealed on August 28th.
