Love it or hate it, 'Fairytale of New York' is a Christmas classic and gets rolled out and played to death in pubs, shops and at parties every December.

The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl's 1987 song remains popular almost thirty years after it was first released, and has spawned countless covers over the years.

However, none of them have sounded quite like this one.

Young English musician Daniel Woolhouse - who formerly released music under the name Deptford Goth - has covered the song in his own inimitable style, with layered harmonies, dreamy vocals and a faint tick of electronics.
