When Wilco singer- songwriter Jeff Tweedy recently announced that he would be releasing a solo album, it was assumed by many that this record would be in a similar vein to Tweedy’s occasional solo acoustic shows. Not so.

Tweedy will release Sukierae (that's “Sue-key-ray” to you and me), a full length LP, on 16th September through Wilco's label dBpm, which was founded by the band in 2011 after their contract with Nonesuch ended in 2010. The album will be issued under Tweedy, the moniker under which Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer will release the record.

The album's lead single, the gritty, groovy, stripped- down I’ll Sing It, features backing vocals from Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius. The track is currently streaming on wilcoworld.net
