Listen: Pulp and LCD Soundsystem collaboration - 'After You'
Pulp have teamed up with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and released a brand new track. Well, sort of. 'After You' was written by Pulp over a decade ago but Jarvis Cocker appealed to the services of his S.S. Coachella shipmate James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem for some assistance - and a finished version of the long incomplete tune has now been released to the internet.
Fans who saw Pulp's show on board the S.S. Coachella were given download links to the new tune, which was recorded by the band in November and then finished with Murphy in London and on board the floating festival.
This is the latest step in Murphy's post LCD Soundsystem life. The 42 year old New Yorker has been touring as a solo DJ act (including at last year's Electric Picnic) and collaborated with Gorillaz and Andre 3000 earlier last year. Murphy will also reportedly work on the upcoming fourth album from Arcade Fire too.
