Taylor Swift has put a brand new song out into the world - but she is not singing on it.

Instead, 'Better Man' - which was written by Swift and has some tell-tale broken-hearted lyrics strewn through it - was recorded by US country band Little Big Town.

With lines like "I know I'm probably better off on my own, than loving a man who didn't know what he had when he had it" and "It's always on your terms, I'm hanging on every careless word hoping it might turn sweet again, like it was in the beginning" and references to jealousy and 'pushing my love away', people are turning their heads in the direction of Swift's last real ex, Calvin Harris...

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild said: "Taylor sent us this song and it was one that was very special to her. She said, 'That's the greatest honor as a songwriter that you could ever give me is that you don't want anyone to know I wrote it'. We knew we would tell eventually, and it was a hard question to dodge for a while."

Swift, meanwhile, took to Twitter to congratulate the band:
