He's best known as an actor but has also written a novel, published a book of poetry and has more recently been a university/high school lecturer - and now James Franco is turning his hand to music.

The 'Pineapple Express' star is by all means a big Smiths fan, and has formed a band called Daddy who are apparently inspired by the music of Morrissey and Marr.

They've recorded an album called 'Let Me Get What I Want' - a reference to Smiths song 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want' - which will be released next year, and have shared 

The other member of Daddy is musician/artist Tim O'Keefe, while rather strangely, former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke features on every track on the album. 

NME reports that each track on the album will be accompanied by a video, which in turn will form an hour-long film that follows "three characters as they weave through the dark ways of high school: love, death, and dreams".
