Quincy Jones may be one of the most celebrated record producers of the modern music era, but it seems that he's not too diplomatic when it comes to international relations.

In a wide-ranging interview in the new issue of GQ, the 84-year-old took pot shots at various people - and places - as well as talking extensively about his numerous young girlfriends around the world.

One of his most contentious comments came when he was speaking about his friendship with Bono and how he stays with him whenever he visits 'racist' Ireland.

"He's a great guy," he said. "I stay at his castle in Dublin, because Ireland and Scotland are so racist it's frightening. [Bono] said, 'Trying, Quincy, to assimilate, but it's not coming easy.' So I stay in his castle."

Jones also criticised Taylor Swift, having declared his admiration for the likes of Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and others. When asked what his opinion was of Swift, he made a face "somewhere between disapproval and disdain” before sniffing: “We need more songs, man. Fucking songs, not hooks.”
