Lana Del Rey will make her debut Irish performance next summer. The Born To Die singer will play Vicar Street on Sunday 26th May next with tickets, priced at €44.05, going on sale at 10am on Monday 5th November.
Del Rey burst onto the musical scene in the second half of 2011 when her song 'Video Games' went viral online, focussing a massive amount of attention on the young New Yorker. Her debut album, Born To Die, was among the most anticipated albums of 2012 (even if it did flatter to deceive slightly) but Del Rey's combination of breathy, Nancy Sinatra-style vocals and her fresh-faced looks (she's signed to NEXT Model Management) make her a hot property, at least in musical terms.
Del Rey received 3 nominations at this year's MTV EMA Awards, for Best Alternative, Best New and Best Push. Voting can be done online at www.mtvema.com until 9th November, with the winners announced during the show on 11th November.
