It's pretty fair to say that Kodaline are one of the biggest bands in the country nowadays. After proving themselves capable of captivating the main stage crowd at Electric Picnic and playing to a full house inside The O2 in Dublin, you might have expected that the days of seeing them play to a crowd of just a couple of hundred people was behind them - which probably makes their upcoming Whelan's appointment on Wednesday July 2nd that much more of a rarity.
The lads will play the famous venue in support of the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association where attendees will be treated to exclusive renditions of material from Kodaline's hotly anticipated second album which is due for release sometime in 2015.
The band has decided to perform these exclusive tracks in this setting as a once off performance for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, through their close relationship with MND sufferer Jan Battles.
Speaking of the concert Jan said: "From the moment I heard Kodaline’s first song, 'All I Want', I was hooked on their music. They’re amazing live and I was so honoured when I asked them if they would consider doing a charity gig in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and they agreed without hesitation. They’re generous as well as hugely talented lads. I’m so excited we’ll be getting to hear exclusive new material from their much anticipated new album. It’s going to be a great gig".
Tickets for the show are on sale at 9am Friday 16th May and are priced at €40. Tickets limited to two per person. This is a strictly over 18s event.
