Much of Kanye West's behaviour over the past year has been dubious at best and worrying at worst, but it seems that the rapper is finally grappling with his demons.

According to reports on TMZ, part of that process involves him exiling himself to a mountaintop studio in the state of Wyoming, where he is said to be writing and recording the follow-up to 'The Life of Pablo'.

In recent days, West has quietly deleted his Instagram and Twitter accounts, and has been absent from many events where he'd usually take centre-stage, including the recent Met Gala and the launch of his latest fashion line. The last time he performed live was just before his breakdown last November.

TMZ report that he spent two weeks at the Wyoming hideout and recently returned for a second session, and quote a source claiming that his isolation "has nothing to do with problems at home or problems with his head ... it's all about creating music."

As many have pointed out, the last time he went into 'hiding' to make an album was after his infamous Taylor Swift/MTV VMAs outburst in 2009 - and the result was arguably his best record, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'. Whether he comes back better than ever remains to be seen...
