UK singer and songwriter Johnny Flynn and his band the Sussex Wit will play Whelan's on October 16th next. Tickets, priced at €15, will be on sale from this Friday.

Flynn's third album 'Country Mile' will be released in September of this year through Transgressive Records, the follow up record to 2010's excellent 'Been Listening'.

Flynn and collaborator Adam Beach (the Sussex Wit) have taken a different approach to recording Flynn's third album, which Johnny describes as "demoing with intent" meaning that they usually prefer their rough edits to the album versions of songs - so why not do a whole record that way?

One to look out for, Mr Flynn (to the best of our knowledge, anyway) hasn't been on an Irish stage since the Body & Soul area of Electric Picnic's opening day in 2010. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..
