Jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck dies
Dave Brubeck, a jazz musician known for his classic song 'Take 5', has died of heart failure a day before his 92nd birthday his manager has confirmed.
Brubeck was the first modern jazz musician to be featured on the cover of Time, when he appeared on the front of the famous magazine in 1954 and, five years after that, the Dave Brubeck Quartet's Time Out was the first ever million-selling jazz LP and is still considered a classic in the genre.
Brubeck was still touring as recently as 2009 before he started to suffer from a heart condition. He leaves behind his wife, Iola, and five sons and a daughter.
