White Stripes fans have had to content themselves with Jack White's solo output since his former band broke up in 2011, but there is a glimmer on the horizon if you miss the duo's music.

No, they're not getting back together - but White has made a previously unreleased White Stripes song available online.

He's releasing an 'Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016' collection on September 9th that spans his White Stripes, Raconteurs and solo output, that includes 'City Lights' - a song that was originally recorded for 2005's 'Get Behind Me Satan' and unused for that album.

White allegedly forgot about it until it was discovered last year, and finished it earlier this year.
