Anyone tuning in to Alan Carr: Chatty Man on Channel 4 this evening will be treated to seeing JLS member Oritse Williams shedding a few tears about the band's recent break-up.

The boyband split unexpectedly last week after seven years together, as we reported here. They'll finish their current tour before hanging up their microphones in December of this year after what can only be described as a pretty lucrative few years in the pop charts.

Referencing Williams' reaction, band member Ashton Merrygold said: "it's real for us, you know? Even Oritse's reaction. We don't want to get pushed out of the industry, we want to go out with a bang."

JLS initially lost out to X Factor winner Alexandra Burke in 2008 but have arguably eclipsed her when it comes to mainstream recognition, visibility and record sales. As is the norm in situations like this, the band will release a Greatest Hits album before finally calling it a day on their farewell tour later this year.

"Goodbye: The Greatest Hits Tour will be the last time that we will perform together as a four and we want to make sure that this tour is the best ever and that we end on a high! We will always remain brothers and friend and we will always be your boys", Merrygold continued.

You can see the full interview tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.
