It's been almost eight months since the tragic loss of The Cranberries lead singer Dolores O'Riordan and today an inquest in London has ruled her death accidental.

O'Riordan was found by police officers in the bathroom of Room 2005 at London's Hilton Park Lane Hotel on 15 January. The inquest revealed she died by drowning in the bath due to alcohol intoxication.

The Limerick singer and mother-of-three was staying there as she was in London for a number of scheduled recording sessions.

The inquest opened in January but was adjourned until today as "various tests" after a post-mortem examination were still being waited on

At the inquest, coroner Shirley Radcliffe ruled that O'Riordan's death was an accident and Police Constable Natalie Smart said there was no evidence of a note left in the room.

O'Riordan's mother, Eileen, her brother and sister-in-law attended the inquest at Inner West London's Coroners Court.

Today would have been Dolores' 47th birthday.
