She may have recently cancelled her gig in Cork (boo), but Idina Menzel fans may have something else to get excited about in the coming year or so.

With recent news revealing that a stage musical of Alanis Morissette's 'Jagged Little Pill' is on the way, it's been announced that Broadway star Menzel is to participate in a reading of the show before it premieres.

The bad news is that she won't be taking part in the show's initial run in Cambridge, Massachussets next spring as she is tied up in another production - HOWEVER, there is an expectation that the show will move to Broadway, and... well, it'd be strange if Menzel took part in a reading and then had no further involvement, wouldn't it?

The play "revolves around several generations of a family as they struggle with their relationships with each other as well as ideas surrounding gender identity and race," according to Uproxx.

Tickets for the initial run in Cambridge next May go on sale tomorrow.
