Big Boi and Andre 3000 will perform together under the moniker of Outkast for the first time since 2004 when they reunite for this summer's Coachella music festival in California in time for the 20th anniversary of their debut album Southernplayalsticadillacmuzik.

Rumours had been rampant that the duo would reform after ever since Big Boi posted a picture of the two together on his Instagram account in December sparking rumours which have now proved to have foundation. Big Boi first gave hints that he and Andres 3000, who have both had successful solo careers post-Outkast, were considering a reunion when he commented on it during a radio interview.

"We’ve been kind of discussing some things. Once we map it out, we’ll make an announcement. But we’ll see. It’s 20 years, man...I wanna see it too, I definitely wanna see it too. Mum’s the word right now, but we gon’ see", said the rapper.

Coachella will again take place in its home in Indio, California, across two weekends - April 12-14 and April 19-21.

As well as Outkast, the two other confirmed headline acts are Arcade Fire and Muse, with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Ellie Goulding, Beck, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim with the sole Irish representative being James Vincent McMorrow. You can see the line-up as it stands below.
