He may have left his boyband days behind him, but it looks like Harry Styles needs to brush up on his 'rock star' skills, if this story is anything to go by.

Styles particularly needs help with his stage-diving skills, as an incident in New York the other day attested to.

While performing an instore gig at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, the pop heartthrob was so taken by the moment that he decided to throw himself into the crowd, apparently forgetting that an audience of teenage girls = not the same as an audience of rock fans.

As Seventeen reported, "Harry leaped into the eager crowd without a care in the world. He bobbed in the air for a short, glorious second, but it seems his adoring fans lacked the upper body strength to hold him up, because he immediately sank down to the ground pretty much where he landed in the crowd."

It seems that he also managed to kick a fan in the head, as they claimed on Twitter - while another said that she was 'crushed' during his impetuous moment of madness, although he did meet her afterwards to apologise.

Something to tell the grandkids, we're sure.
