Fans of the 80's and early 90's Manchester music scene, already buoyed by the reformation of the Stone Roses, are waking up to more good news today. The Happy Mondays are the latest group to reform (and with their original line-up, no less). The band will be touring the UK in the Summer but you can be sure that further dates will be released in due course.

The Happy Mondays have reunited twice before, most recently in 2004 but didn't retain the band's original line-up. Paul Ryder had said he would never play with the band again when they split for the second time in 2000.

Rumours about the reformation have been rampant since last month when front-man Shaun Ryder confirmed to the press that he had approached the other members of the band with the intention of proposing a reunion.

The Happy Mondays released 5 albums, most recent was 2007's Uncle Dysfunktional.
