Going to Electric Picnic? Here's all you need to know.

Keep calm, everyone. Here is your Electric Picnic cheat sheet.

It's that time of the year again! Several thousand of us will be setting sail for Stradbally this weekend for another Electric Picnic but how do you get there? What's the weather going to be like? Who's playing, and where?

We know that lots of you have been before and know how to get there (and more importantly: how to get home!) but we've endeavoured to anticipate any questions you may have and provide you with the answers below.

How and when should we get to Electric Picnic?

Campsites open from 9am on Friday. There are a few different ways to reach your destination, too. The most common of which is driving directly to the site. You can find information on how to get there by car, by bus and by train at the previous links.

What can and can't I bring with me?

Good questions. No glass bottles are permitted on site, so any spirits you bring must come in a plastic bottle. Your bag WILL be searched on arrival, so try not to cause a fuss okay? Also banned are campfires, portable BBQs, aerosols, airhorns and so forth. Just use your common sense, yeah?

Where can I get a ticket?

Electric Picnic is sold out unfortunately but have a glance at #TicketFairy on Twitter and you might get lucky. Be warned though, make sure you trust the person you're dealing with!

What's the weather going to be like?

I'm camping. What should I bring with me?

Let's start at the top. You will, first and foremost, need a tent, a sleeping back and some cash. A pillow will also help. Other than that, don't forget rubbish bags, toilet roll, baby wipes (seriously, these), some snack foods to stave off the hunger first thing in the morning, a flashlight, it's a good idea to have a little lock for your tent too - just in case. Toothbrush, toothpaste and enough clothes to guarantee your warmth for three days of sleeping in a field towards the end of the summer.
