Gig Announcements: Avenged Sevenfold, The Wombats, Road Records Farewell Party
31 August 2010With U:Mack's farewell gig for Road Records initially scheduled to take place at the Button Factory on Friday August 27th just gone, the line up for the event has now been revealed for the new date of Friday September 10th. The event will kick off in the venue formerly known as TBMC at 8pm with The Redneck Manifesto, Female Hercules, Legion Of Two, Patrick Kelleher and his Cold Dead Hands, Cian Nugent and Road Records DJs spinning some great tunes until late into the night. After bagging the number one slot in the Irish album charts briefly with their latest offering 'Nightmare', Avenged Sevenfold will play Dublin's Olympia Theatre on November 8th. Tickets priced €39.20 go on sale this Friday September 3rd at 9am.
The Wombats are set to return in 2011, kicking off their UK & Ireland tour with shows in Belfast and Dublin in the New Year. The Liverpudlian trio are currently finishing work on their second album and hope to release it before the end of the year. They will play Spring & Airbrake on January 12th (£15) and The Academy on January 13th (€20). The tour's pre-sell commences on 9am on Wednesday, September 1st from www.the-wombats.co.uk/store before going on general sale from 9am on Friday, September 3rd.
