Following this morning's news that two of the five Garth Brooks concerts set to take place in Croke Park this summer have been pulled, strong speculation has grown that the country music superstar might now withdraw from all three of the remaining concerts.
According to a report from independent.ie, who cite separate sources in "Croke Park and in the music industry", Brooks may pull out of the remaining gigs after today's ruling by Dublin City Council to refuse a license for two of the concerts directly contravenes the agreement signed by the musician signed with Aiken Promotions.
The Independent quotes a "source", who says: "I would expect that none of these concerts will now go ahead."
They also quote another source who rubbished ideas that the gigs could be moved to the Aviva Stadium as "completely unfeasible", although it is understood talks have taken place to explore this possibility between Aiken and rival promoters MCD, who hold the performing rights to the stadium.
The GAA are expected to release a statement on the matter this afternoon.
