Dublin-based duo Heathers released their second album Kingdom in the first week of September last year and you suspect that even they would have been slightly taken by surprise by the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the record. Kingdom was recently announced among the nominees for the Choice Music Prize, where it'll be considered among the favourites.
Now, added to that, Heathers are also in the running for Best Irish Band and Best Irish Album at the Erics next week. Not only that, Ellie & Louie (along with a full band) will be on hand to perform on the night, along with Delorentos, Bouts and Leanne Harte.
