There are literally dozens of great bands playing this weekend at Castlepalooza and, even for the most hardened of festival veterans, sometimes it can be hard deciding who to go and see. We've done some work though and below are five acts who we feel are very much worth your attention this weekend.

CAVE GHOSTS

Where & When: Main Stage / Sunday / 3pm

One of entertainment.ie's favourite bands. The sounds surfpop sounds of Cave Ghosts will take over your life when you hear them, so you have to be okay with that possibility...

O EMPEROR

Where & When: Main Stage / Saturday / 9.15pm

O Emperor are another band that all of us here in the office hold in very high esteem. Their Choice Prize nominated second record Vitreous is one of the best Irish releases in a many a moon - and they're one HELL of a live act.

WE WERE EVERGREEN

Where & When: Main Stage / Sunday / 10pm

One of the bands pulling double duty at Castlepalooza and Indiependence this weekend, We Were Evergreen were a part of the entertainment.ie stage at Whelan's for the second Camden Crawl Dublin last year and we've been madly in love with them ever since. You will too. Promise.

SLEEP THIEVES

Where & When: Metro Herald Stage / Friday / 7.30pm

The new album You Want The Night deserves a lot of attention and signs indicate that this is the record that will deliver on the promise of their 'Islands' EP.

MELTYBRAINS?

Where & When: Metro Herald Stage / Sunday / 7pm

A crazy amalgamation of whimsy, experimental music and (an occasional appearance from) autotuned vocals comes together to create a sound unlike anyone else you'll hear at the festival this weekend.
