After three years, Linkin Park are back with their fourth studio album 'A Thousand Suns', due for release this Friday September 10th. In anticipation of this, Fibbers on Ormond Quay are hosting an Exclusive Album Playback party tomorrow night, Thursday September 9th.

A Thousand Suns follows Linkin Park's No. 1 album 'Minutes To Midnight' from 2007. The band this week admitted that they were strongly influenced by Public Enemy in the recording of the new album. Co-producer and vocalist Mike Shinoda told NME, "I reference them in the song 'Wretches And Kings', there is a homage to [lead rapper] Chuck D on there ... It's probably the most hip-hop song on the record and one of the most aggressive, but it feels like nothing I've ever heard before ... Public Enemy were very three-dimensional with their records because although they seemed political, there was a whole lot of other stuff going on in there too. It made me think how three-dimensional I wanted our record to be without imitating them of course, and show where we were at creatively."

The band are also set to play this year's MTV VMA Awards, taking place in LA this Sunday September 12th.

Fibbers will be playing the entire album from start to finish between 8pm and 11.30pm. There'll also be CD prizes and giveaways happening throughout the event. Admission is free and open to all!
