The Black Eyed Peas are officially one member down, after will.i.am confirmed yesterday that Fergie has left the pop group.
With her solo career in full flight, the singer has not been on a Black Eyed Peas record since 2012 and her former bandmate confirmed the news that she was no longer in the group in a new interview with magazine Ahlan!.
Fergie originally joined the Black Eyed Peas in 2002, before they enjoyed a major breakthrough with songs like 'Where Is the Love?'.
"Since the beginning of Black Eyed Peas, we've always had amazing vocalists that appeared on the mic with us," said will.i.am. "People like Macy Gray, Esthero, Debi Nova, Fergie. On Elephunk, there were several females that appeared on that album.
"Obviously Fergie was the featured female, but on songs like 'Let's Get it Started,' it's Noelle [Scaggs], and then Fergie, songs like 'Latin Girls,' it's Debi Nova, and 'Request Line,' it's Macy Gray. We'll always work with good females."
There are rumours that Nicole Scherzinger may join the band, but although he confirmed that she's involved in their new album, he insisted that 'nobody is replacing Fergie.'
