A Las Vegas police officer who claims to have been at the scene of Tupac Shakur's fatal shooting in September 1996 has revealed what the rapper's final words were.

Chris Carroll, now a former member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD, arrived at the scene shortly after Tupac had been struck several times in a drive-by shooting on Septmeber 7th 1996. Carroll repeatedly asked "Who shot you?" as the rapper lay dying in his arms but he claims that, instead of answering him, Tupac was intent at yelling something at rap mogul Suge Knight, who had also been in the car at the time of the shooting.

According to the Daily Mail, the police officer claims that Tupac "went from fighting to 'I can't do it' and when he made that transition, he looked at me, and he's looking right in my eyes", Carroll said.

"And that's when I looked at him and said one more time, "Who shot you?"

"He looked at me and he took a breath to get the words out, and he opened his mouth and I thought I was actually going to get some cooperation. And then the words came out: "F*ck you."

Carroll continues: "After that, he started gurgling and slipping out of consciousness. At that point, an ambulance showed up and he went into unconsciousness."

Tupac Shakur died of internal bleeding on September 13th.

A brand new musical based on the life and work of Shakur called Holla If Ya Hear Me will open its doors in New York in June.
