We've only just heard news that Neil Diamond is hanging his touring boots up once and for all - and it seems that Elton John is following suit.

The legendary musician has announced a huge 300-date 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' global tour, with gigs spread over three years - beginning in the US this September before heading to Europe in spring 2019.

The Irish date will see him play Dublin's 3Arena on June 12th, 2019 and "will take his fans on a musical and highly visual journey spanning a 50-year career of hits like no one has ever seen before", according to the press release.

He announced the tour, which will be his last after a 50-year-career, with a live videocast from New York today.

Tickets for the 3Arena gig - which will be sold under Ticketmaster's 'Verified Fan' scheme -  go on sale to the general public on Friday 9 February at 9am from all usual Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets and VIP packages can be purchased at EltonJohn.com.
