The Hazel Wood area made its debut at last year's Electric Picnic, providing a little oasis of calm and chilled-out entertainment amidst the hubbub.

It's set to return to this year's festival with a programme of theatre, performance art, music and more, and details of the various artists, groups and collectives that will be providing the entertainment have been revealed.

The Gaiety School of Acting will invite adult festival goers and brave children to enjoy “Tales in the Thicket” - an immersive storytelling of some of Ireland's favourite historical lore and mythology.

Footsbarn will provide snippets from two new productions with their shows featuring puppets, clowns, music and song, tragedy and comedy, colour, costumes and music.

The Cerebral Fortress, Boombox Nation and Fossett's Circus will also join the fray, alongside Dowtcha Puppets, who will present ‘The Boy with No Story’ - an Irish faery-tale about a teenage boy’s adventure at his first party, and Strive Theatre, who will bring their critically acclaimed black comedy ‘Will It Fit in the Van?’to the Hazel Wood.

In terms of music, there's the OTC Opera Hub, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock and more.

After Dark, the stage will take a more music-based approach with Freezer Room with special guests, Bantum who will be joined by visual artist Le Tissier for a live A/V set; Jack L; Marlene Enright; Jim ‘X’ Comet; Tiz McNamara; Tanjiers, and Máiréad, plus DJ sets by Humans Of The Sesh, Cork house collective Fleece and stage curators Generic People.
