Yesterday, Ed Sheeran revealed further details of his third album 'Divide' - most notably, the tracklisting.

His Irish fans got extremely excited, however, about the fact that there was a song called 'Galway Girl' on the album:

It led to a lot of confusion and speculation about whether the song was a cover of Steve Earle's original hit, later covered in recent years by Mundy and Sharon Shannon:

However, this appears to be as unlikely as it sounds - as the Irish Sun report, trad band Beoga feature on two of the 'Irish' tracks on the album - one of which is about Galway, and the other about Wexford, where his granny lives.

Besides, why on earth would he put a cover of another artist's song on his album and line their pockets?! Sorry, Steve Earle... not this time. Mundy... you're safe. For now.
