In case you weren't aware, there has been an ongoing feud between rappers Drake and Pusha T that has taken a turn for the ugly in recent days.

With Pusha T's new album art for 'Daytona' creating its own headlines for using a picture of Whitney Houston's drug-strewn bathroom counter, the artwork for his new single (which disses his rival) 'The Story of Adidon' proved equally controversial - largely because it featured a photo of Drake in blackface paint dating from 2007.

The Canadian rapper was also sporting a t-shirt and hoodie featuring the notorious Jim Crow caricature, which its designers Too Black Guys have released their own statement on:

Now, Drake himself has come out and explained the photo, which he says was from a period when he was an actor and "working on a project that was about young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and type cast. The photos represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment."
