Last week, we brought you the news that a new Dr. Dre studio album was imminent.

Indeed, the hip-hop icon confirmed the release of his third solo album 'Compton' last week - his first in 16 years - which will be released this Friday.

The album will be available exclusively on Apple Music - at least initially. It will be available to stream to Apple Music customers on Thursday for three hours ahead of its Friday release, from 9pm until midnight Eastern Time - which is 2am to 5am GMT.

Dre's links with Apple Music are well known; he has a radio show called 'The Pharmacy' on Beats One, the streaming service's radio station, and his Beats Music empire was bought by Apple.

The rapper has described the album as his 'grand finale' and features guests including Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jill Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Xzibit and more.
