Following on from the revelation in recent days that Kanye West plans to put his late mother's plastic surgeon on the cover of his new album, the surgeon in question has responded.

Jan Adams has written an open letter to the rapper politely telling him to 'ceast and desist' from using his image on the album cover, but remarking that he didn't want to seem ungrateful. "I just think that in fact if this conversion to love is genuine on your part... then it's inappropriate to drag the negativity of the past with it."

He added that he was "impressed" that Kanye wanted to "forgive and stop hating" and went on to explain what happened with his mother's surgery, claiming that "from a surgical standpoint the operation was a success" and accusing TMZ founder Harvey Levin of being "either wrong or frankly lying" with his comments made to the press following her death.

Adams then went into detail regarding the coroner's report, saying that her personal nurse was responsible for several adjustments in her post-op care but was not present at the time.

Kanye himself shared the letter on Twitter thanking Adams for the "amazing connection" and saying "I can't wait to sit with you and start healing, brother."
