Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey have teamed up to release a new charity single in aid of St Vincent De Paul.

The pair recently got together to record a version of Irish favourites 'The Auld Triangle' and 'Raglan Road' with producer Karl Odlum. The single features both songs, as well as 'Not On Your Own Tonight', taken from the expanded edition of Dempsey's 'To Hell Or Barbados' album.

Everyone involved in the project has donated their time and skills entirely for free, and Dempsey and Hansard made the following plea to fans to help the cause.
"We recorded this song to highlight and raise funds for the work of Society of St. Vincent de Paul which includes offering help to the many households each day in Ireland who are having difficulty keeping the lights on. You can help..."

With artwork by the satirical animation team over at Eyebrowy, 'The Auld Triangle' will be available to purchase in record shops and through iTunes from December 3rd.
