Well, the answers to any questions that you may have are being revealed in a new book written by one other than Virginia Hanlon Grohl, aka Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl's mum.

'From Cradle to Stage: Stories From the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars" is being published next April, and it saw Hanlon Grohl research the topic by speaking to the mothers of a number of famous musicians, including Dr. Dre, Amy Winehouse, Michael Stipe, Adam Levine and Haim about their experiences.
