Christmas, to us at least, means a variety of things: the twelve pubs, ridiculously festive jumpers and, of course, Christmas tunes. That's why we were so happy to learn that Christmas FM will hit the airwaves again this year, beginning on November 28th and running for the following four weeks.
As well as this, the station's Christmas song contest will once again seek to unearth the finest festive musical talent our island has to offer. All you have to do to enter is write and record a completely original Christmas song (the hard part) and then upload it ChristmasFM.ie by December 7th (the easy part). The entries will then be whittled down to six by a panel of judges and then voted on by the public.
The winner will get an early Christmas present of €500 of audio swag from X-Music, as well as a much sought-after playlist slot on the station.
All submissions must be of broadcast quality and in MP3 format.
The judging panel this year is:
Aidan Cuffe - Goldenplec.com
Una Mullally - Irish Times
Rick O’Shea - RTE 2FM
Stuart Clark - Hot Press
Niall Byrne - Nialler9 / Day & Night magazine
Ronan Hunt-Murphy - Swear I’m Not Paul
John Balfe - entertainment.ie
Claire Beck - Phantom 105.2
John Barker - 98FM Totally Irish
Lisa McInerney - Ramp.ie
Kelly O’Brien - State.ie
Dee Woods - Radio Nova
