Bring MTV Europe Music Awards to Dublin
19 February 2010A campaign has been launched to bring the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards to Dublin. Each year the awards are hosted by a different European city, and though Dublin previously hosted the awards in 1999, we feel we've come a long way since then. Plus, last year was the second time round for Berlin. Why not Dublin?
The MTV for Dublin campaign was launched by David O'Keefe last week, after MTV asked the public where they thought the awards should be hosted. It has already gathered 5500 supporters on Facebook, a number that is reported growing by 1000 each day.
The MTV for Dublin campaign website states that "Dublin has the culture, the character, the music, the history and all the vital components to make the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 a great success, and one to remember," and comprehensively lists all the reasons why Dublin is the best place for MTV in 2010.
