Beyoncé has let her father Matthew Knowles go from his post as her manager after sixteen years.
Knowles originally left his sales job in 1995 to manage Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's famous girlgroup, originally set up with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. Knowles also managed both Rowland's and Williams' solo careers until the former ended their contract in 2009 and the latter did the same last year.
Though the split is described as "mutual", Beyoncé had previously blamed her father for criticism she received over performing a private gig for Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi in 2009, despite the fact that she donated her payment to the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
"Ultimately, Matthew Knowles should be accountable for that decision, and I do accept responsibility."
Despite this, an official statement is full of words of love and respect from both parties. Beyoncé herself said "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage me and own their own businesses. They are hard working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."
Meanwhile, Matthew Knowles added, "The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment. Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and I am very proud of who she is and all she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success."
