Not since the days of JFK has there been an American president that rubs shoulders with high-flying celebrities in the way that Barack Obama does.

The POTUS has been no stranger to throwing an elaborate bash at The White House, but he been making the most of the last few months of his term.

He celebrated his 55th birthday last week and although there was a media blackout around the party on Friday, it's been revealed that the guestlist included Beyoncé, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and more from the world of music, actors including Samuel L. Jackson, Portia De Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres and sports stars including Magic Johnson.

People also report that Usher and Stevie Wonder performed live.

Johnson's wife Cookie posted a picture from the party, captioned: "#AboutLastNight Our President knows how to throw a great party, we had so much fun, I can barely walk today, LOL! Happy Birthday Mr. President @barackobama!!!"
