Ireland's biggest indoor arena has got itself a brand new name. Drum roll please!

Anyone down near Dublin's docklands area yesterday evening would likely have caught glimpse of a massive crane yanking the 'O2' sign off the former Point Theatre, as phone network Three took over naming rights of the venue from rivals O2 who have withdrawn from the Irish market.

A brand new moniker has been applied to the arena:

Three customers will get early access to pre-sale tickets in the venue. A brand new 'Three Customer Lounge' is also being added to the venue, as well as various other customer reward schemes.

Upcoming gigs in the newly named venue include alt-J, Elton John, Kasabian and Ennio Morricone.

The only thing we've yet to ascertain is what exactly will happen to the O2 Angels during this massive upheaval...
