Amy Winehouse may have died before her time, but she undoubtedly packed a lot into her 27 years on this planet - and now her life story is set to be told in the form of a stage musical.
With musical icons from Michael Jackson to Carole King to Queen having had their own life stories made into similar shows, Winehouse's family are in talks to create a show using the Londoner's music and her rise to fame.
Her father Mitch said that he has given his blessing to the project, although there are no details about who is developing it.
He told The Sun: “A musical celebrating her life and music is being talked about for the near future. It is something I’d really like to happen and I’ve said I’m happy for it to go ahead."
He added: “It would be for the West End. We want to do something that remembers Amy for what she was, there’s so much more to her than just the drugs and the alcohol. We want to do something positive about how she developed her music. What we don’t hear is that she was clean of drugs for three years when she died.”
Since her death in 2011, Winehouse's life story was most successfully told in the award-winning documentary 'Amy' - which her father was not happy about, calling it 'hurtful'.
