Kodaline have become one of Irish music's biggest exports in recent years with their brand of lighters-aloft indie anthems.

If you've been within earshot of a TV or radio over the last four years, you'll no doubt be familiar with the Dublin band's music.

However, how much do you really know about Steve Garrigan and co.?

Ahead of their biggest show to date this Saturday at Marlay Park, we've rounded up 5 things you may not have known about the quartet.

**

1. Before they made it big as Kodaline, they were known as 21 Demands and competed in 'You're a Star' in 2007. They eventually finished as runners-up to David O'Connor. Rumour has it that they called it a day as a band because their hair dye budget became unsustainable.

2. Their big break came when their song 'All I Want' was used in an episode of Grey's Anatomy and subsequently became huge after video went viral. FYI, the super-cute dog's name in the All I Want video is Digby and belongs to director Stevie Russell.

**

3. Courteney Cox is a big fan of the band – so big, in fact, that she directed the video for their single 'Love Will Set You Free'.

**

4. Their song 'Make It Feel Right' was co-written with none other than Harry Styles of One Direction.

5. Bassist Jay Boland made history during Ed Sheeran's Croke Park gig last summer by becoming the first musician to ever propose to his girlfriend on stage at the GAA HQ. (Luckily, she said yes).
